Mash It Up!

Every Friday, THE quintessential MAGAZINE will share with you the history of our found industrial & antique objects that are available in our bricks and mortar store, quintessential duckeggBLUE.

This week, we bring to you English Antique Potato Mashers, as featured in our ‘The Quintessential Collection’ story of edition 3.

Quitessential Magazine Collections stylist: John Mangila

Hand-turned, antique timber potato mashers – found in British homes at the turn of the 20th century – have a simple and honest appeal. Today these collectable finds have a decorative as well as a practical purpose. Styled alongside original American tin ceiling panels and European antique linen towels.

Available in store at quintessential duckeggBLUE and online at http://quintessentialduckeggblue.com.au/object/timber-potato-mashers/ for further information on all featured products.

Welcome to the launch of THE quintessential Magazine’s NEW blog.  We have been inundated with requests to keep in touch with all our subscribers and readers in between our bi-monthly editions of THE quintessential MAGAZINE, so what better way than to create our very own blog.  Designed to give you your quintessential hit between editions, we will be sharing sneak peeks of future issues, outtakes and additional images from our favourite stories, what the team gets up to behind the scenes, competitions and a whole lot more.

Edition 3 of THE quintessential MAGAZINE goes live on Thursday 11Th April and what an edition it is!

Cant’ wait until the 11th? Fancy a sneak peek? Oh go on then, just for you…..

In our feature story ‘Beautiful Things’, we celebrate COLLECTIONS – the grouping together of well-loved objects from the practical to the sculptural – and explore how they have the ability to transform our homes and our lives. And, just briefly, we ponder the fine line between being a collector and being a hoarder. Does it merely come down to a choice of words?
